| If you want my advice or support for
unschooling, please come to one of my camps or other workshops if you
can.
If it's help over the phone, mail, or email you're after, I'm sorry:
I no longer give consultations. But no worries--I highly recommend the
reasonably priced consultations offered by Susannah Sheffer (former
editor of Growing Without Schooling, who has worked intensively
with many teenaged unschoolers) and Patrick Farenga (president of Holt
Associates and a homeschooling father). Susannah can be contacted
through Info@HoltGWS.com, and Patrick at (781)395-8508
or Patrick129@aol.com.
It's also helpful to join a local
support group. (Make sure it supports unschooling and not just the
school-at-home style of homeschooling.) Or join one of the Internet
mailing lists on unschooling, or see one of the web sites recommended in
this book. The Not Back to School
Camp community website is a good source of help and support from
other teenaged and grown-up unschoolers.

And, I highly recommend subscribing to an
unschooling (or "homeschooling") publication. The best one
ever, Growing
Without Schooling, gave up the ghost a few years ago. But I definitely
recommend Life Learning, which has deliberately
stepped in to fill GWS's niche. Home Education Magazine is also
very good. These periodicals offer good advice, personal stories
from people doing the same thing you're doing, and contact info for
relevant events, organizations, and people.
See my links page for a few really good websites that offer all kinds
of great advice to unschoolers, especially teenagers.
Good luck! And remember: ultimately, you are your own best source of
wisdom as to what's best for you.
